What is a Microschool?
A comprehensive educational experience within a small-scale school setting.
What makes our learning environment different from a traditional learning environment?
3L recognizes that a “one size fits all” curriculum cannot suit every student especially in high enrollment K-12 schools. With smaller class sizes, we cater to the individualized needs of each learner. By tailoring instruction to unique experiences and interests we allow students to learn from and collaborate with peers of varying ages and promote cross germination of ideas. This approach encourages mentorship, cooperative learning, and a sense of community.
Expectations of Individual Success
- Goal: Students to surpass grade level expectations while addressing specific areas of need.
- Free Flowing Ideas: Students have the freedom to express themselves creatively.
Hands-On Experience and Exposure (E&E):
- The curriculum incorporates life skills and encourages critical thinking.
- Students benefit from concierge core co-curriculum experiences.
- Subject Learning in Its Totality: Caters to student interests – Quarterly Passion Project.
Teaching Approach:
- Guide/Facilitator: Challenge students to lead learning at their own pace.
- Project-Based Learning: Students engage in hands-on projects that encourage critical thinking
and problem-solving
- Hybrid learning: Combining in-person and online components. Math and science receive special attention.
Activity Structure:
- Operates five days a week with focus on core academics.
- Students may attend 3, 4, or 5 days in-person each week.
- 1 day/week dedicated to off-site activities.
